with a detour at Amy’s.  It was their first visit.

Matt to C&D in the local grocery store, standing in the office supplies aisle:  "They don’t have any envelopes at this store.  Maybe we should go to a different store later."

David:  "I have an idea!  Maybe we should go to Candylicious.  They will have envelopes at Candylicious."

Nice try, kid.

The point of this post isn’t to brag, or to make an attempt at pretty pictures (any beauty you see is inherent in the pictures, and not the picture-taking, which happened with one eye in the viewfinder and one eye on Carmen and David, always too close to the street).  It’s to remember that after we ripped out a whole bunch of that fig ivy and Bermuda out, threw down a bunch of seeds, and tucked in a few plants here and there, we got a real prairie-looking something out front, full of bees and birds and butterflies and dragonflies.

Cool.

The next part in finishing this post is figuring out what everything is, and trying to remember what bloomed earlier in the year.  Time to get my Native American Seed catalog back out.
